Somaliland - Stronger Together

The Somaliland UK Mission invites you to an evening with leaders from Somaliland’s three political parties, Waddani, Kulmiye, and UCID reflecting on Somaliland’s unity, cohesion and togetherness.

It is widely recognized that a nation succeeds when its people unite around the common good and development for the betterment of all. Somaliland has long been celebrated as shining beacon and example of this around the world. From the redeclaration of independence in 1991, Somaliland has been built on the principles of understanding, compromise and uniting around those common values of democracy that we cherish to this day. From the grassroots up, Somaliland bears the hallmarks of a society poised to move forward towards a more prosperous future, together.

Being accustomed to such traditions and norms, it is sometimes easy to forget to cherish and celebrate those values. In that light, we find it poignant to bring Somalilanders together to reflect on our achievements thus far as well as to find solutions and ideas to how we can continue to build and develop our country with that ever-present communal spirit.

We will have a host of distinguished guests and speakers on the evening, including:

Farhan Aadan Haybe - Chairman, Somaliland Civil Service Commission
Hon. Abdiqadir Jirde - Interim Chairman, Waddani
Ahmed Abdi Dheere - Interim Chairman, Kulmiye
Faysal Ali Waraabe - Chairman, UCID
Dr Axmed Cadi Muuse (Abyan)
Cawaale Ibrahim Shirwac
Mohamed Ahmed Caalin (Tiimbaro) - Governor, Sanaag Region.

We will have music and cultural entertainment on the evening.
